BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS launched in India – TAB Report

BMW Motorrad launched on Thursday the new avatar of the G 310 R and G 310 GS in the Indian market. G 310 series was first launched in India in 2018 and since then it became the most desired sport-tourer bike in the Indian market. With 300 cc bikes in the market, the BMW will become the first choice for riders for touring. Till now KTM 390 Duke and Bajaj Dominar 400 has dominated the best sport-tourer bike segment for under 3 lakh rupees. But now the game will change.

Mr. Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India said during the launch “Today BMW Motorrad has become the most exhilarating and talked about brand in the Indian market”. Talking about the market presence of G 310 R and G 310 GS, Mr. Pawah said that since the launch of these two bikes in India, they have sold 5000 units which contributes to 85% of sales from BMW Motorrad.

 

 

 

Mr Pawah also told that the bikes are developed by the BMW Motorrad team in Munich, Germany and they are produced locally at the TVS Hosur plant. BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS use the same engine as the TVS Apache RR 310.

 

The All-new BMW G310 R and G 310 GS got some significant updates in its looks. Now, the headlamps, turn indicators and tail lamps are LED. The brake and clutch lever has four levels of settings. The front suspension uses an upside-down fork for a better riding experience. Slipper clutch and ride by wire are the new features that were missing in the previous version. 310 R embodies a true BMW roadster. 310 GS is currently unrivaled in its segment.

The new bikes are priced at INR 2.45 lakh and INR 2.85 lakh respectively which makes them cheaper than its TVS sibling Apache 310 R. The price range will definitely increase competition for KTM and other sports bikes in this price range. BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS are now available to purchase at all dealerships of BMW throughout the country.

 

 

 

BMW Motorrad is also offering a financing facility for these two bikes from BMW Financing services. BMW G 310 R can be financed at the monthly payment of INR 4500 while G 310 GS is available at a monthly payment of INR 5500.

 

 

 

The bikes come with a warranty period of 3 years and unlimited kilometers. The warranty can be extended to four and five years at a price of Rs 16250. BMW Motorrad is offering an extended warranty at a special price of INR 5499 for the first 500 customers who chose to extend the warranty.
