The BMW i8 Roadster offers a single powertrain. It is powered by a turbocharged 1.5 liter, 3 cylinder gas engine. This generates 228 BHP. This comes with an 11.6 kWh lithium-ion high-performance battery pack and 2 electric motors. When this all combines with the electric motor, which gives an additional 143 BHP, this provides a combined output of 371 BHP to the BMW i8 roadster. It goes from zero mph to 60 mph in mere 4.1 seconds.
Transmission and handling
The 2021 BMW i8 Roadster is geared with a 6-speed automatic transmission. All 4 wheels of the BMW i8 Roadster are attached to internally vented disc brakes. These vented disc brakes feature high-quality calipers which are finished with high gloss black. The BMW i8 Roadster offers an 8.8-inch touch screen display, which lies next to the 8.8-inch instrument cluster display. This allows the BMW’s I drive system to use. To have a musical and melodious drive, Sirius XM with a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system is available.
