The tome on matadors and their foes can be found in Lamborghini’s library. Its brand-new hypercar is called Revuelto, a nod to a bullfighter who was apparently quite famous in Barcelona’s bullrings in the 1880s. “Mixed up” is the closest English translation of the name. It appears to be a contradiction that it has both a traditional V-12 engine and an onboard battery pack for its innovative new plug-in hybrid drivetrain.
Powerful engine with plug-In Hybrid
A total of three electric motors and the 814 horsepower 6.5-liter V-12 will produce a maximum combined peak of 1001 horsepower. On the front axle, two electric motors enable torque vectoring under both power and regenerative braking. The eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, which is now mounted behind the combustion engine, now includes a third motor. Although the 3.8-kWh battery pack that is mounted between the seats can only generate a peak current flow of 187 horsepower, it can be switched between the three electric motors that produce 147 horsepower as needed. Dissimilar to the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, the Revuelto can send capacity to the two closures while functioning as an EV.
The battery has a port in the front luggage compartment where it can be charged, and the awkward location suggests that it is only intended for occasional use. The option to use the V-12, which transforms the electric motor in the rear into a generator, will be more fun, but it will be less environmentally friendly. Doing that requires only six minutes to top up the battery pack.
Revuelto’s plan figures out how to be both recognizable and unique. It has low, wedgy proportions and a stance that is typical of Lamborghini: it looks like it has a lot of mass in the back. However, there are likewise horde new subtleties, with the most striking being the hooded headlights set under a hood that presently runs the whole way to the front of the vehicle. Mitja Borkert, head of design at Lamborghini, admits that he was inspired by the Panigale superbike made by Ducati, Lamborghini’s sister company.
The front also has two spherical radar sensors that provide a visual clue to the Revuelto’s significantly increased level of technology, as well as Y-shaped running lights that were shown off in the limited-edition Lamborghini Sián from 2021. The huge air intakes that are hidden behind the doors in the side view stand out, their blade-like details making them look even more aggressive. Over these, what initially appears to be solid bodywork is actually just skin laid over enormous air channels on each side. These buttresses, which Borkert calls “aero wings,” are his favorite part of the car.
One of Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelman’s fundamental requirements was that the Revuelto’s V-12’s top be visible through the rear engine cover. Under a moving wing element, massive center-exit exhaust tailpipes dominate the vehicle’s rear end. Although we do not yet possess a final figure for the vehicle’s downforce, chief technical officer Rouven Mohr claims that the peak is greater than that produced by the Aventador SVJ’s user-adjustable wings when those wings were in their low-drag configuration. Lamborghini says that the restricted space of the Aventador’s tight-fitting lodge was one of the greatest protests from purchasers, particularly American ones. The Revuelto’s cockpit has more headroom and elbow room than the Aventador’s, and it also has two Porsche-style cupholders that deploy from in front of the passenger position. The Revuelto’s headroom and elbow room are also better. The rich also have possessions.
There are also three digital display screens in the cabin of the Revuelto. The primary user interface for the driver’s 12.3-inch instrument panel is an 8.4-inch portrait-orientated touchscreen that is suspended beneath the “alien’s head” air vents in the middle of the dashboard. In addition, there is a brand-new 9.1-inch letterbox display in front of the passenger that can be set to show a variety of frightening numbers when the car is driven hard.

The wiper and turn-signal controls have been moved to the steering wheel’s face, much to our mild dismay. The Aventador was one of the last supercars to utilize stalks. The Revuelto now uses an Audi-sourced stalk for its active cruise control, which partially undoes this ergonomic purging. The chassis and powertrain modes, as well as the aerodynamic and ride height settings that are adjustable, are managed by dial controls on the steering wheel.
In addition to the Strada, Sport, and Corsa settings that are typical for Lamborghinis, a new mode has been added to the Revuelto: Città, the EV-only setting designed for urban use at low speeds, According to Lamborghini, the electric-only range will probably only be six miles under the European testing protocol. Additionally, we now know that the mode of operation will affect the available peak power. Città restricts it to the EV-only mode’s 178 horsepower, while Strada makes it 873 horsepower, Sport makes it 895 horsepower, and Corsa makes it 1001 horsepower.
Hybridization has increased total weight, despite claims that the Revuelto’s core carbon structure is lighter and stronger than that of the Aventador and that it sheds the weight of its predecessor’s front differential and propshaft. Lamborghini says that the focal battery pack weighs 154 pounds and that the front engines add simply 81.5 pounds of mass, with the new double grasp gearbox being 425 pounds including the heaviness of its necessary electric engine. Based on the power-to-weight ratio that Lamborghini is citing, the vehicle’s total weight is said to be 3915 pounds; however, we do not know whether this is the case with or without fluids.
The Revuelto will be both the most powerful and almost certainly the fastest Lamborghini road car to date, even with the increased mass and its lowest launch configuration. In a market where almost everything now runs below three, the company’s claim of a 2.5-second 60-mph time might not stand out. However, the claim that it can accelerate from rest to 124 mph in less than 7.0 seconds is a real eye-opener. The Bugatti Chiron completes the same test in 6.5 seconds.
Conveyances of the Revuelto will begin in the not-so-distant future, and even though we don’t have a settled cost at this point, Lamborghini says the initial two years of creation are as of now completely requested.
